Glacierwear offers in-house tanning and manufacturing services. Below is additional information and price lists.

If you are interested in having Glacierwear tan your furs or tan and then manufacture your furs into clothing, blankets or pillows, please print and fill out the following order forms:

Tanning Information

• Tanning is hair-on only.
• All tanning is done at owner‚Äôs risk. We will not be responsible for poorly or improperly handled hides.
• All hides must be fleshed, degreased, stretched and dried. No frozen hides accepted.
• Tail bones should be removed and split prior to drying.
• To ensure ears will not slip they should be turned.
• Do not put/send hides in plastic bags.
• We use alum and ash type tan, when tanned with properly handled hides, this will produce very soft and stretchy leather.
• Trapping License Number/Hunting License Number is required for all orders. Cities pelt tags must be on all bear, bobcat, cougar, lynx, otter and wolf.
• Uptone and Brightener processes are also available. Uptone blends the color of the pelts making a better match, especially for blankets. We recommend this process for beaver, fisher, martin, mink, otter and raccoon. Uptone charge is $4.00 per pelt. Brightener brings out the color of the fur and brightens any white color. We recommend this process for badger, bobcat, coyote, ermine, fox, lynx, raccoon and wolf. Brightener charge is $2.00 per pelt. Furs can be both Uptoned and Brightened.
• Dying services are available upon request.
• Print and fill out order form. Send a copy with furs. You will be notified if any discrepancies occur.
• 50% deposit is required ‚Äì We will charge your credit the deposit amount upon receipt. You will be charged the balance plus return shipping upon completion. Guaranteed funds, (money orders and cashiers checks) will also be accepted for payment.
• All tanning not paid for in 60 days will be sold for tanning costs.

Let us make you a hat, ear muffs, mittens, etc. after having your furs professionally tanned by Glacierwear. Home tanned furs will not be accepted.
