Great quality and price

First time shopper, got the pelt on a bargain price.
Have decided to buy fox pelt after a visit at the agricultural event, the vendor displayed numerous beautiful pelts, loved the felt with finger thru these furs, I have my eyes set for a few colors and breeds but the price is an “ouch”. After 2 hours of back and force in the shop (no kidding), finally settled and brought two home, one of ‘em been the red fox.
But this trip triggered me to want to “collect” more, after browsing, I found and brought the Arctic red dox pelt, and the comparison of the two Red is so obvious, thicker, finer, better quality and much cheaper price, Glacier wear is definitely the winner…….

Gonna be back for more.

The colder the climate, the better the fur

Of all the wild red foxes, the ones from northern Canada and Alaska have the longest, densest, and softest fur. They absolutely blow any foxes from the continental US out of the water. I've only ever had one wild red fox pelt that was softer; it was from Alaska. Perfect for small projects, educational use, or as a wallhanger. The full-price Glacier Wear pelts have no major flaws, but may have incomplete ears; for most projects, this won't be a problem.

A wild mixed bag of fluffy heaven

Some are wonderfully sized, some are a bit on the small end. They're all wild so that's to be expected and wild don't come in the huge sizes that farmed do. Expect about 9-10 inches of even usable width. Some had a lot of repairs and on a small number I had to make some repairs myself, though most of them were excellent, and a few of them were even perfect with claws. One skin I received was obviously pre-blocked to make it larger and had no stretch at all.
One thing they all had was incredible dense plush perfectly soft wild fur. Unlike farmed - where the hair bounces all over and falls this way and that with amazing shine and color it's always a little coarse, This wild hair doesn't really fall and bounce and flow all over. Yet it's so unbelievably feather light and cloud soft it's heaven. The color is on the paler end of red with little grey and some have those AMAZING pink underbellies. It's the classic old fashioned look of fur from coats, stoles and wraps from yesteryear. The density of hair is fantastic and the price is excellent vs lower latitude wild fox. Probably not sophisticated enough in look for modern outerwear vs the perfection of specifically bred farmed pelts - it makes absolutely wonderful plush home decor like blankets, pillows, or more rustic clothing/accessories.

WOW!
Review by
This was my first time buying from Glacier, it will not be my last. I will be getting more of these furs. There is a night and day difference between this fur and another I had previously purchased from another vendor. The other fur I purchased was from Montana. I was happy with the quality. BUT, putting it next to this fur, there is no comparison. This Arctic Red Fox is better color, the fur is heavier and much softer. Again, I say WOW!
